Steve Stevens has had a passion for guitars since his high school days in Edina, Minnesota. Over the years he has built banjos, solid body electric guitars and acoustic guitars. For the past 25 years he has worked to create the ideal guitar in both form and function. This is an endeavor that he hopes to pursue for many more years. In March 2004, Steve and his wife Pattie, along with their Brittany spaniel Molly, moved to the small Texas town of Breckenridge from Scottsdale, Arizona after a 37 year career in the electronics industry. Steve and Pattie, a long arm quilter and quilt designer, have established individual workshop studios in their circa 1922 home with plenty of room for visiting children and grandchildren from nearby Dallas/Ft. Worth. The Stevens' have found life in this small Texas town to be a welcome relief from the congestion of Scottsdale and the demands of industry. Again this year, Steve has renovation of their 1959 Airstream trailer on his "to-do" list. Building guitars has continued to be a full time passion , leaving too little time for work on the trailer. Maybe this year ? Here is a bit of the Airstream just beyond the fence. Yup, it actually did rain here in August. SHORT UPDATE Here we are in 2008 and that Airstream is still waiting. Building guitars is really my first love - I just never seem to tire of their creation. Retirement has enabled me to adopt a business plan where I mostly build guitars of interest to me and then I find buyers for those instruments. If you see an instrument you like - it may still be here. Ask me. I would love hearing from you. Steve |
