Saddly for us the Breckenridge Fine Arts Center has decided to discontinue their art show. We had a good time introducing Breckenridge to our guitar building.

This year we have instead hosted several informal gatherings of people interested in building guitars. The first in February 2007 was attended by three folks from Ft Worth with the common interest of building guitars.

We spent time in the shop and had some great food followed by music.

In March we introduced some archtop methods to new friends from Denton. After the work one evening we were joined by two local Breckenridge men home for spring break. These folks made some nice music. Hearing so many of our guitars playing together was a real treat.

The 2006 Breckenridge Fine Arts Center show was once again a good time.

Again we carved on a spruce top between responding to visitors questions. The top shown here on the bench is the Italian Spruce now a part of the instrument featured on our Home Page. There sure are a lot of guitar players in Texas.

We really enjoyed the participation of these young folks. We think they had a good time too.

We need to build some left hand guitars.

Following are some pictures of the show in 2005.

We had a great time being in the center of the action with art displays all around.

Here was where we demonstrated carving spruce for the top of an arch top. The top we worked on during the show was used on the walnut archtop shown on the Gallery page.

I received a lesson in guitar playing from this gentleman.

We recently donated one of our small pattern instruments to the Breckenridge Fine Arts Center and it was auctioned during the annual fund raiser. We are proud to be able to support our local community. This also means another of our guitars is being played and enjoyed by local residents.

The rosewood and curly maple go so well together.
